February 2019: Empties & Tossed Report

It is March 4th and I declare a month-long no buy! There shouldn't be anything I need besides makeup wipes, and I should even have enough of those considering I am trying to use makeup remover instead of a wipe lately.

Let me show you what I used up in February.

One NYE Resolution that I have is to USE.STUFF.UP!! That includes the 293 tiny bottles of perfume that I have everywhere. This month I used up two and have already finished one in March. Expect more perfume all year at this rate!

In total, I used up 11 full size and deluxe sample sized products.

Nothing too special to highlight this month!  I live for the Urban Decay 24-7 Waterline Eyeliner in Legend. I buy a new one before I finish my current one. Sulwhasoo Emulson is lovely but out of my price range. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer might be in my NEED category after March - I could literally feel the moisturizing properties sinking into my skin after I showered.

I finished up 3 sample packets, although the Exuviance is a 2-step product.  Does that count as 1 sample or two!?

Puuuuuuuuuurge the old stuff! I have more (old) chapsticks and lipbalms than I could ever use. If I was iffy about it or it was older than I am, it got thrown out. Unfortunately, that included a few pricier products (Lancome, I mean you) along with junk. I also tossed an old sharpener that no longer sharpened and I went through my nail art stashes and threw out things I will never use. Buh bye.

Empties Report for February: 11 fuzz size / 3 packets
Tossed Report for February: 32 items

Empties Report Year to Date: 24 items / 10 packets

February 2019: Favorites & Flops

February was a short month but that doesn't mean I, as a creature of serious habit, wasn't reaching for the same things all month! Let me show you what I loved in February!

As usual, Favorites first:

You have seen the Sephora Colorful Cheek Ink Gel in Peony before! I swatched it below as well. Just when I think I want a powder blush, I reach for this over and over. I love how easy it is to blend, I love the cheerful pink color, and it lasts all day. Always a winner.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has been around for a while, I think, but there is a reason for that in the constatnly changing makeup market - it is good. I bought the concealer in shade 10 for brightening and shade 20 for contour and hiding blemishes on the darker spots on my face. Both colors are creamy, easy to blend, and last all day.

You've probably tried the Tatcha Dupe - e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer - if you can find it! I ended up ordering it from the elf website when I caught a free shipping promo. I haven't tried the Tatcha version to compare but the PPP is really cool. See below - it's got a cool texture, actually quite like putty, but melts into your skin and helps your foundation to adhere.

Lastly, the sample on the end of Estee Lauder's Double Wear 2-in-1 Foundation in 2N1 in Desert Beige. I am prreeeeettyyy sure I am going to spring for a full size but it is such a bad time with warmer weather and tans right around the color. This really stays all day, which apparently is my theme this month.

Time for one Flop, which might be surprising since everyone else seems to love this product!

You obviously can't tell from the photo but these are samples of the Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 140 and 150. Not for me! They oxidized and then settled into my skin, makes my pores look bigger and my skin looking parched for hydration.  Have you tried it? What do you think!?

Any Favorites or Flops for you in February?

Let me know what you think!
