August 2018: Favorites & Flops

Time for August's edition of Favorites & Flops!

As usual, let's start with the good news.

I am all about pinning down a healthy and consistent skin routine because I have so very little control with the rest of my life that lining up the same bottles night after night is practically SELFCARE in my book.

So, with that in mind, there are no new purchases in my Favorites, just those I can't live without and use routinely every single day!

The yellow spray bottle is Etude House Wonder Pore. For full makeup days, in the morning:

  • I wash my face and then start with the Etude House Wonder Pore Toner and the Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer.
  • Both play really nicely under my Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer, which is better than any of Benefit's primers - and a lot cheaper.
  • After foundation, I set with a mix of Too Face Matte Soliel Bronzer in Light/Medium and Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder.

The only product I haven't mentioned is my prized and adored Klairs Supple Preparation Toner, which is insanely hydrating. I use this every night after my double cleanse.

Unfortunately, this brings us to the bad news.

Only two to mention since I am trying to use up stashed items instead of spend $$. This Garnier 5 Second Blur is a primer that is fine on it's own but doesn't play well under makeup. I never do primer with nothing else but if you do, you might like it. Personally, I am tossing it. Ditto for this new Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer. It's shimmery and doesn't work well under foundation for me. Buh bye.

Have you tried any of these products?  Like or dislike?
