Mask of the Week: Freeman FeelingBeautiful Peel-Off Clay Mask Clearing

I am such a sucker for the WalMart displays with the 7th Heaven and Freeman masks. My WalMart doesn't have these, so when I see these inexpensive little beauties at other stores, I tend to buy in bulk. My bad!

Recently, I spied something new to my little eyes: PEEL-OFF Clay Masks! Neat! Sometimes I gravitate to my sheet masks instead of other types because I am a lazy youknowwhat and sheet masks are just quicker and neater. No washing off at the end, it makes all the difference, amirite!? Anyway, peel-off clay sounded pretty intriguing, so this Sweet Tea and Lemon Clearing version came home with me.

Normal directions in the back. With any peel off mask, skip the areas where you have hair so you don't rip them off. Speaking of which, if you haven't googled some of the fail videos of peel-off masks, it is well worth the belly laugh to do so. You're welcome.

I washed my face, added a spray of Vitamin C from the Body Shop (found at TJ Maxx, new favorite thing) and then applied the mask. It is pretty much skin color for me, so I had to be careful when applying.

And, in conclusion, I need some practice with peel-off masks.

The area around my mouth must've been applied lighter, and I don't shut up, so that area dried quickest and was easiest to peel away. See, it's like an anti-goatee, LOL. As for the rest of my face, the peeling didn't go well at all. I was stuck with bits around my jawline, on the inside of my nose, and on my hairline, even though I was careful not to apply it there. I had to rinse a majority of the mask off, and it was nasty and glue-like when rinsing. I ended up using a washcloth to scrub (UGGGGGH) the rest off, which made my skin super red and inflamed. I immediately covered my face in moisturizer and hoped for the best.

In conclusion, if you have a heavy hand when applying products, like I do, this may not be the best choice. I would not use this again, given how much elbow grease it took to remove the remnants. Have you tried this peel-off? Would you, could you?

Company V Glow Balm to Oil Foam Review

Hello! Today I have a review of another product I received, for shipping at $3.99, from This is an awesome product that has officially moved into my (semi) permanent line up! Let me show and tell you more.

This is a huge product - 2.7oz. You only need a tiny bit to cleanse, so this will last months and months!

According to the box, and the only English on there, "this glow balm cleanser effectively cleanses away impurities and heavy makeup from skin with the three step trans balm that changes as a balm-oil-foam."

It's balmy! LOL. Seriously, it's got a sticky balmy gluey consistency. See the little strings attached to my finger? Sticky!

You need just the tiniest dab.

First, when you dip your finger into the pot, it comes out as a balm:

As you rub it into your face, it turns into an oil:

Then, as you mix in a touch of water and massage it on your skin, it becomes very faintly foamy:

It rinses cleanly off the skin, no residue or oil. It does remove makeup, even mascara, and doesn't irritate the eyes as you rub it over your lashes. It has a clean smell, nothing strong, nothing floral or heavily perfumey smelling. I am not sure what is in it, LOL, as the ingredients are Korean, but it works for me!

Thank you, 08liter!

Mani Round Up: July 25, 2017

Happy Tuesday!

Is it just me or is a Tuesday more of a Monday than Monday? At my job, Mondays are so busy that they pass by in a blur! Tuesday is the day where I realize I am actually back at work, LOL. Whatever...I like my job - and my nails look good! Let me show you what I wore this past week.

Zoya Dream: Such a pretty polish! Perfect in two coats but hard to photograph! I wish Zoya would do this type of sparkly treatment to pastel polishes - imagine a seafoam green or lilac?

Color Club Poetic Hues: I forget how much I love this polish until I use it! The first coat is deceptively streaky but the second levels out and makes the polish opaque. I love colors that make my hands look tan, especially in the summer.

Mask of the Week: Avatara Even Out Face Mask

Unfortunately for my beauty product loving self, there is no Target near me. This means, again, unfortunately, that when I am in a Target, I tend to get a little OOC. Can you blame me?

My most recent impulse buy was this Avatara Even Out Face Mask, meant to minimize your pores. I will try anything, within reason and budget, to attack my moon craters of pores, so this little buddy had no problem leaping into my cart.

Unlike most masks I use, this one is easy to purchase in the US! Here is the link, although I didn't purchase the Get Out Set, but only the single mask, so my review - and recommendation - is only on this product. To purchase (just an FYI, no affiliate links): HERE.

I can't find this one listed singularly on the site, but the 3 mask set is $9, so I must've paid around $3 for this - at least, I hope I did!

See that happy face!?

Loved this mask!!

First, it is made of a 'tencel fiber' which meant it was stretchy, comfy, and actually fit my lopsided odd shaped head. It was very saturated with essence, even to the point of dripping out of the packet, but smoothed onto my arms, legs, hands, and feet nicely. The scent is lovely - clean, fresh, not floral or heavily fragranced. The mask stayed saturated for the 20 minutes I used it, and stayed clingy to my skin despite my movement around the house.

When I removed it, my skin was soft, not tacky, and absorbed my follow up products very well.

I was definitely impressed with this mask and will make sure to snag another during my next Target trip. Have you tried this brand? What do you think?

Lapoth Cell White Oxygen Tone Up Sleeping Mask Review

Woo! Another cool product sent to me at no cost for review by!

This is an item I was super excited about, so I was thrilled when I got the notice that I would receive it for review. This is the Lapoth Cell White Oxygen Tone Up Sleeping Mask. Let's take a closer look!

Initial thought when I opened it: Wow, I am glad I didn't pay for this! It is hard to see in the photo below, but the jar is half full. I am sure it is by weight or settled in transit or whatever, but as a potential consumer, I was bummed. A smaller jar would make me feel like I had more product, even if I didn't.

It smells fairly strong, but it is a clean, fresh, sweet vanilla scent. The scent lingers when you apply the product, too.

It is a thick white lotion with a consistency similar to many sleeping packs I have tried. Make sure to use this as your LAST step, even over your regular moisturizer.

You guys! It bubbles!!!!! Not like the carbonated bubble mask bubble, but it feels like the little oxygens are popping in your skin. It is almost ticklish! The bubbling only happened for a few seconds and then it felt like the product settled down into my skin.

See the bubbling?

I slept with this mask on and woke up to very soft, noticeably plumper skin. Nice! However, since it is thick, there was some residue left on my skin. I used a cotton round with Micellar Milk Cleanser from Sephora to wipe my skin down (as I do every day before makeup) and my skin was perfect and ready to go!

I have only used this sleeping mask once but I loved it! From the gentle popping bubbles to the noticeable change in the morning after one use, I do recommend this and will continue to use it 2-3x per week or as needed.

Mani Round Up: July 18, 2017

Even though I am well back from vacation, I haven't gotten back into regularly doing my nails and posting. I am still thinking about the future of the blog, so a lot of things are TBD.

Anyway, let me show you what I managed to get on my nails since I posted last week.

Literary Lacquers Flopsy: Loveeeee! Flopsy (I think) was a LE, so I am super happy to have this one. Two perfect coats and topcoat is what you see here.

China Glaze My Lodge or Yours? Ooops! Square photos happen when you post to IG (follow me HERE), then delete your pics without uploading the originals first. This is three thin coats and topcoat. I like how this color dances a fine line between purple, grey, and khaki.

Color Club Hot Hot Hot Pants: When I posted this on IG, one of my (super lovely) followers commented and said this doesn't look like the pastel streaky nightmare that I claimed it to be. Thank you, sweet commenter, but I still hold to what I said! The first coat was streak city, the second was semi-acceptable, and a thick layer of topcoat make it look decent. Meh.

Illamasqua Collide: Do you ever make your nails super cheerful and bright just to hopefully inspire a matching mood? Guilty! Collide is one of my most neon (neonist?) colors. It's brighter IRL than it looks here. Two coats and topcoat, viola!

That's all I got! More next week - same time, same place.

Mask of the Week: Tony Moly I'm Real Aloe Mask Sheet

So, remember last week, when I said the My Beauty Diary mask was the worst fitting mask ever? And that maybe I have an odd shaped head, which could be to blame for the odd fit?

Sigh. Let me eat my words. AND admit I have a weird head.

I reached for the Tony Moly I'm Real Aloe Mask Sheet for no reason in particular. My skin is always dry, I like Tony Moly, there ya go.

Basic instructions:

Face pic!

The mask is fiiiiiiine. Smells clean and fresh. Has the weird little chin slash like the My Beauty Diary brand, only this held together fine and didn't rip.

Con: the FIT. Seriously, yall, my head is the issue. This is so gapey, literally falling off under my eyes. The forehead section is ginormous, so my hairline received a nice dose of hydration...which is clearly needed... The part under my nose sagged and no matter how I pushed it back into place, it gaped right back away from my skin.

My skin felt soft when I removed it, but again, nothing spectacular. Next!

What's Up Nails! Rose Petal Nail Vinyl Decal Review & Mani!

Hello, hello!

Today I have a mani and review of the What's Up Nails Rose Petals Nail Vinyl Stencil. If you like it, you can find it HERE. (No affiliate links, pinky swear)

I honestly forget who I saw sporting these same vinyls. I want to say it was on IG? I immediately ordered them, though, and they came in just a few days!

So, the envelope looked much better when it arrived, LOL. I was eager and ripped it open!

The packaging was black and gold and quite sleek. It came with full, helpful, well written instructions along with my decals.

See those tabs!?! Brilliant, I tell you, brilliant.

I decided to do a traditional color way mani, so I started with a neutral fave, Zoya Jacqueline. I top coatted it and let it dry completely, as per the instructions (and, you know, common sense).

Once my nails were dry, which was mere minutes thanks to HK Girl, I applied the stencil. I was afraid I'd rip the little lines in the rose but these are seriously high quality so it pulled off the backing flawlessly.

I applied two quick coats of Zoya Brynn and immediately removed the decal.

Ta-da! How easy and cute is that?! Ignore my lack of clean up, blame it on excitement! :) My left hand came out better!

I love these decals! I am so glad I grabbed two sheets, thinking I would really like them. The price point is perfect, too, I believe it was under $7 shipped for two sheets. Each sheet has 15 decals in different sizes. I honestly wish they were all the same sizes, but with two sheets, I can make a few manis.

What do you think?

Mani Round Up: Catch Up Edition

I am back from vaca and although I didn't take pics of all of my manis since I have been gone, I did take some pics, so I figured I would share them in a Catching Up edition of the Mani Round Up post.

So, when we last left off, I had on Zoya Brydie...

I Love Nail Polish Electric Carnival over Zoya Byrdie: I wanted to do my nails without doing them, so I reached for ILNP Electric Carnival. I covered my ring and pinky fingers completely, and did a couple freehanded angles on the rest. I haaate the color combo with Byrdie. I guess that is the magic of polish or makeup - if you dislike it, remove it, and try again. And so, I shall.

Essie Petal Pink: Palette cleanser mani! I was watching some show and the female character had soft, pretty, natural, but perfect looking nails. Inspo!! I did one coat of ridge filler and two coats of Essie Petal Pink. I am usually not a fan of VNL, visible nail line, but it fits with the natural-but-better theme going on here.

China Glaze Fancy Pants: I forget how much I love this polish! It is a great deep cornflower blue with a fine purple/pink shimmer throughout. It applies like butter, flawless in two coats. Fancy!

Zoya Teigen: Over my vacation, I purchased a new top with a drawing of a bull skull (I went to AZ) and the details of the shirt match Teigen perfectly! This is two coats with topcoat.

OPI Infinite Shine You Can Count On It: Palette cleanser! I am heading out to dinner tonight so I needed something sophisticated, clean, classy, and above all, pretty! I am thinking of matting this later for a mod look. Though it is almost pastel, it is still perfect in two coats. The first applies sort of patchy unless you lay it on thick.

Mask of the Week: My Beauty Diary Aroma Series Citrus Firming Aroma Mask

Sigh. Confession: when I last stayed with my boyfriend, I somehow forgot EVERYTHING and ended up with only micellar water to remove my makeup and a face lotion.

Next morning: hello, chin pimple. Haven't seen one of you in a while!

I don't need clarifying masks regularly (because I am usually super careful with my skin), but I was happy to have this My Beauty Diary Aroma Series Citrus Firming Aroma Mask on hand from a variety pack I purchased a few months back.

No English on the back... 20 mins on a clean face it is!

Time for my face! Not happy, huh...let me tell you why.

This has got to be the most ill-fitting mask EVER. Do I have a weird head? Would you guys tell me if I had an oddly shaped dome?! The chin of the mask is split in two, which is odd, but in this case, I was able to apply the flaps (something I've never said before) to the desired area, my chinny chin chin. It was saggy across my head, saggy under my eyes, and weird on the chin.

However! I finished up with this mask and looked in the mirror. My chin blemish was immediately, noticeably, less red, less bumpy, and less irritating. Score! I then applied my Purito Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and went to bed. I woke up with the pimple GONE, gone, gone. No trace of it! Never happened! Woot!

I don't have another of these masks to try, and I won't go out of my way to purchase it again due to fit and lack of use. I don't want to tell you not to buy it, since it worked really well and really quickly, but if you have a weird head, like I do (allegedly), then it was no fun to use and not really the greatest masking experience.

Have you tried this brand? This version of mask? What do you think?

March 2019: Empties & Tossed Report

I am continuing to try to use up products that have been laying around, including perfumes. So far, so good. Let me show you what I used in ...
