May 2017: Favorites and Fails!

Hello there!

My monthly Favorites and Fails post is here to mark the end of another month! Where does the time go!?

As usual, let's begin with the Favorites.

This month I have two skincare and two makeup products that I have been loving!

Estee Edit Beam Team Hydrate and Glow: I received this for free to review from Influenster along with three other items, which I passed along. I kept this baby and I am SO glad I did! I mix it with a bit of moisturizer as my first step before makeup each morning.

The bottom, as you can see from the directions, has a cap full of a bright gold bronzer. Use your fingers to just lightly tap some out and apply where you apply highlighter. I don't use this nearly as often as the lotion, but I love the ingenuity.

Here is the Beam Team swatched, with the lotion on top and the highlighter from the cap on the bottom.

Glow 1 Balm to Oil to Foam Cleanser: I received this at a steep discount to review from I heart all things KBeauty right now! This starts as a balm, turns into an oil on your skin, and foams up as you rinse. It has a fabulous, light, minty smell. My skin feels SO soft after I use it and very clean, too.

IT Cosmetics Eyeshadow Trio in Pretty in Winter: My Grandmother gifted this pretty IT Cosmetics trio quite a while ago - shame on me for not using it more! Swatched below, you can see it contains three coordinating shades. The pigment is wonderful and the product stays until you remove it. The medium color is the perfect flattering neutral color for me.

Kat von D Tattoo in Trooper: I received a sample of this in a Sephora PLAY! box and immediately bought a full size when I finished it. I totally get the hype! It is perfectly easy to apply and stays ALL DAY LONG! Swatched below!

As usual, I hate doing the Fails section, but it must be done!

Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Lotion Wipes: I received this in a swap and while they smell great, there is nothing else standout about them. They are not very saturated with lotion and are fairly drying!

e.l.f. Tone Correcting Face Primer: You know I love a good primer, right? This is not a good primer.  It pills up on the skin and doesn't blend well with any foundations I have tried. It isn't empty yet, but it's getting tossed.

Purity One Step Facial Cleansing Cloth: I forget pretty much everything in my life when I last stayed over at my boyfriend's house. I found this in my car, LOL, so the dislike is probably on me as I found it, like the Pacifica wipes, super dry and drying. Purity products don't usually agree with me, anyway.

Sephora Lash Craft Mascara: I started to like this when I first received it, mostly because the flat, paddle-like brush is pretty innovative and cool. However, it just does nothing for my lashes - and mine don't need a ton of help to begin with anyway. Toss.

Clinique High Impact Mascara and Primer: I was swayed by the travel section and a long line at Ulta, so I snagged this, thinking it would be amazing. The primer is white and goes on first to prep the lashes, followed by the high impact formula in black. Total meh for me. I tried it and tried it and tried it again. Toss.

Have you tried any of these products? Love 'em or leave 'em?

Let me know in the comments!

Zoya Sophisticates

The Zoya Sophisticates collection is here! There are two "pearl" shades, two "metallic" shades, and 8 creme shades. Let me show you each one! I am going to lift the description from the site, LOL. #lazyblogger

But first, group shot:

Zoya McKenna: "refined pearl in a soft almond" is the description of this polish. It does have a "pearl" like finish to it, but it is very subtle. Watch those brush strokes though, they can show if you're not careful.

Zoya Tabitha: this is the other "pearl" polish but in a hunter green. I actually liked this shade more than I thought I would! The pearl finish makes it quite unique...but, oh boy, those brush strokes! Two coats shown here.

Zoya Gal: No doubt, this baby is named after Gal Gadot, aka Wonderwoman! I wish they had given her a more powerful color, because this one is lame-o. Zoya describes this as a "smokey, iridescent, peridot gold metallic." Ugly, LOL. My camera didn't like it and…

Lip Slut: F*ck Trump Liquid Lipstick!

Perhaps I will lose a few followers for this, but I am over it. Trump is an awful President. He does not care to unite the country, and, quite the opposite, seeks to divide people from their neighbors and loved ones.

In response to his ridiculous response to the Aug 11-12 events in Charlottesville, Virginia, Lip Slut decided to send some of the proceeds from their now infamous F*ck Trump lipstick to those who suffered.

Honestly, this product has been for sales since November 2016. I didn't buy it then because I hoped (and prayed and hoped and prayed) that, if he were elected, Trump would be great...

So, lemme show ya my new lippie, k?

I wasn't expecting the formula to be great...BUT IT IS!

The color is quite universally flattering, I would think. The formula feels like a Colour Pop matte to me, and the staying powder is great. Win, win!

PS: Fuck Trump!

Here are the details:
