Mask of the Week: LUSH Cosmetics Catastrophe Cosmetic

Happy Sunday!

Today's mask of the week is a LUSH Fresh Face Mask called Catastrophe Cosmetic.

LUSH Fresh Face Masks are different than regular masks because they are made with fresh ingredients, must be kept in the fridge, and do expire! I usually take half of the mask out and freeze it  while keeping the other half in the fridge for use.

I have tried a number of masks, including Sacred Truth, Oat A Fix, the seasonal Cranberry mask, and others. I have wanted to try today's mask, Catastrophe Cosmetic, but it was often sold out when I went mask hunting!

I also wanted to say that I got this for free! LUSH encourages you to recycle the larger black containers (like the Fresh Face mask containers) and if you bring back 5 clean pots, you can receive a FFM mask of your choice for free! It is full size, too, so it's quite the incentive to bring back your pots.

On the website, it is described as:

"Blueberry-packed maintenance mask:
Prevent disasters by taking regular care of your skin with our deep-cleansing, nutrient-rich blueberry mask. The little blue bulbs are packed with vitamins, and blended into calamine, rose absolute and chamomile blue oil to soothe redness, irritation and cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. This one is wonderfully soothing on sensitive skin. Treat your face to Catastrophe Cosmetic as often as you can to keep your skin looking its best."

I whipped out my handy dandy elf pore mask tool to apply:

Since the mask is refridgerated, it has a much harder and firmer consistency than non-fridge masks. I did have to dig into it a little with my spatula, and it was a little harder to spread. I still prefer the spatula for application though, because once the mask hit my warm skin, it became easier to spread.

Like 99% of my LUSH products, I loved this mask. I used it a few days before a wedding, just to get my skin calm and ready for heavy makeup application (and a little dehydration induced drinking and dancing). My skin was beautifully soft after this mask! I didn't have any blemishes at the time so I cannot speak to the healing properties, but overall, this was a lightly scented, softening, and hydrating mask. I love LUSH Fresh Face Masks!

Have you tried them? What is your favorite?

xoxo,
Lacey
