Mask of the Week: HAIR MASK! Roots by LUSH Cosmetics

Hello there!

You may have noticed that this is posted on a Saturday, not my normal Sunday. Sunday, tomorrow, is 9/11 Memorial Day in the US so I won't be posting out of respect.

Hope you don't mind this Saturday post!

Here we go!

Doing a face mask post every week seems a little mundane, so I am also going to review masks that I use on other parts of my body, such as hands, lips, and today...hair!

My scalp, to be honest, has been crazy dry and itchy this summer! I went to my mecca of happiness, LUSH, to see if there was something to help me out. I was given a sample of Roots and loved it, so I immediately went back for a big ol' tub of it!

Now, just an FYI. I do NOT have thin hair. In fact, I have crazy thick hair, enough for about 2-3 people or more. With this product, long hair means a few different things:

  • I cannot use this on my whole head. It would take up the whole (fairly expensive) tub in one try.
  • I stick to just my scalp and hairline (and put a conditioner treatment on the rest to the ends).
  • Tub still gets used up pretty quickly. Womp, womp.
  • I leave it in for 45+ mins instead of the 15-20. There's a lot of hair to cover and soak in.

You didn't think I was going to skip a silly face mask pic, did you?

That's the officially worst pic ever, but you get the point! I slather that stuff on!

The verdict?

Love.

I will never be without Roots again! It stops the itchies and feels so relieving with the minty tingle. My hair, after I wash it out, feels SO incredibly soft and smells fantastic.

I am not sure how to rate this since I don't use it for what it is originally intended for, but I love this product and do encourage you to try it! If nothing else, get a sample from your local LUSH store and see how it works for you.

xoxo,
Lacey
