No month is complete without a Sephora PLAY! unboxing post!
Check out what I received this month:
The theme for this month's box is The Eye Openers. As usual, the bag coordinated quite well!
Personally, I miss the boxes as I found a lot more uses for them than the bag.
As usual, the package came with a card that explains each product and how to use them:
Let me show you each item in detail.
First, Urban Decay Perversion mascara is a new to me mascara. Has anyone tried it? I have an awesome mascara system going with Too Faced Roller Ball and L'Oreal Miss Manga, so this may get swapped or given to my Mom.
Next, Lancome's Energie De Vie, The Smoothing and Glow Boosting Liquid Care.
If you saw this package, what would you think this was? I had NO idea. None.
Google to the rescue! Apparently it is a moisturizer! Whodathunkit?
Per the Sephora website:
"Wake up your skin with a burst of anti-fatigue hydration. This liquid moisturizer fuels your skin for a refined texture, renewed bounce, and gorgeous glow. Its unique formula is hydrating like a cream, concentrated like serums, and light like essences. It’s formulated with goji berry, lemon balm, and vitamin E to provide antioxidant protection against free radicals. Inspired by Korean skin care routines, this water-infused fresh moisturizer works to address the first visible signs of aging for radiant, refreshed, and healthy-looking skin."
The texture is a gel and feels nice on my hand. I enjoy Lancome, so I look forward to trying this out.
Sephora PLAY! also included Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm. This is quite the deluxe sample, my container was filled to the brim. As this is a pricey item, I was impressed with what I received!
It has a nice, thick texture. There is no scent, but once I applied it, I felt a slightly cooling feeling. It was definitely not a tingle, definitely not harsh or bothersome to the eye area, but just cooling. Very nice!
Next up, I received MakeupForever eye shadow in some random number I didn't write down. I wish they named their shades!
I wasn't expecting to like this color, but I really do! It's a grey, mauve, purple color with a touch of shimmer. It feels like velvet and I experienced zero fallout when I applied it this morning.
Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12HR Wear in #33, Plum shimmer, was also included. I usually wear black liner all the time, so this is actually a nice, light change for fall.
I am sorry that this is slightly blurry.
I haven't used a pencil liner in what feels like forever. I am quite loyal to my L'Oreal Gel Lacquer liner that comes in a pot and is applied with a brush. I forget how nice pencils can be! I love that it coordinates with the shadow, too. It swatched smoothly on my hand but this morning, when I applied it to my eyelid, the color didn't apply nearly as smoothly. I will try it again, though. Might be user error!
The last item, included as the 6th instead of a 5th item (which should make some people much happier), is Clean Reserve perfume in Warm Cotton. Normally, I like cotton and linen scents. They usually have a light air of laundry but smell mostly like warmth and sun. Not this one. This has a 'bury your face in the towel after it is out of the dryer' scent. It is STRONG. Way, way too strong for me, personally. I actually sprinted it on my bed before I hopped it last night. I will not be using this as perfume.
In sum, this is another awesome box. I am already looking forward to next month!
