Mask of the Week: Lush Mask of Magnaminty

If you place an order from the Lush UK website, you can request samples of other products to try. In a recent order, I asked for mask samples and was sent a super full and generous sample of Mask of Magnaminty.

The MoM is not a Fresh mask so it can be purchased and shipped with online orders. That is awesome if you don't have a store nearby but still want to try masks from Lush.

On the website, this unique product is described as "Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition."

It looks like this in the pot:

And looks like this on ME! Scary, I know! Told you I would be adding scary mask face pics, LOL.

Lush is not kidding with MINT in the title. Holymoly. This baby actually stings. I couldn't even keep it on until it fully dried and ended up washing it off pretty quickly. I like soothing products not stinging ones! I have fairly dry skin, but I wouldn't add "sensitive" in my top 5 list of concerns, so I was pretty shocked at how strong this mask shocked my skin! It smells as strongly as it feels.

After I washed it off, the stinging stopped immediately. I babied my skin with some lotion and that was it - no serums or anything funky on that night. Honestly, I would not buy a full size of this product. If you're interested, I'd do some research on the website or try a sample pot before committing to a full size - it is that intense.

Have you tried it? Do you like it?
