Mask of the Week: Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Healing Coffee Clay Mask

Indie face mask!! Woo hoo! You know I love supporting small businesses and I love masks, so when I saw the Healing Coffee Clay Mask from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics, I hurried and put it in my cart!

This is pretty cool and different from my usual sheet masks because it arrives as a powder! You can smell the coffee in it, too, which I love. The powder concept is very convenient because you can make as much or as little as you want. You won't waste the product and it will last for a long time!

So, you put a little bit in a bowl and add a little water. If you're me, you add way too much water. I do the same thing with oatmeal. Ooops. To make it thicker, I added more powder and also some honey! I love how soft honey makes my skin feel and I knew it would be a great thickening agent.

Here is what it looked like mixed. It's a nice smelling pastey texture, made slightly stickier by the honey:

And here is the mess I made all over the kitchen!

And here is my face! I wouldn't usually apply the mask this thick but since I messed up the water to mask ratio, I ended up making a lot and didn't want to waste it.

When you remove this mask, the coffee grounds exfoliate your skin nicely. My skin is a bit too sensitive so it ended up slightly red after I removed it, but still very soft. I am definitely a fan of this mask (and my CN polishes!) and would repurchase.
