My Birthday Mani From August 2015!! (Ombre/floral pic-torial!)

Um...I forgot to post my own birthday mani! Bad, bad blogger!!!!!!

How about we start with the finished product and then I will work backwards:

My birthday was August 4 and I turned *gulp* 32. What better way to celebrate than with something girly, bright, and floral? I used 3 SinfulColor polishes, WhiteBoard, Pink Smart, and Over It.

I started with a good base and then painted my nails about 3/4ths white.

Because I am a lazy nail artist, I then used Over It for the other portion of my nails:

Lastly, I used Pink Smart in the middle and a cosmetic sponge to blend the 3 colors together:

My decals came from This was a great item I got for review, it came with 10 designs of strips. Each strip has 12 decals so you can pick and choose for what will fit your finger best.

They are sticky decals. They are NOT waterslide! So, just use your tweezer to peel from the backing and apply on your nail. Top with clearcoat and you're good to go.

Thank you for stopping by! I had a wonderful birthday this year and these nails really helped cheer up the already happy time.

Smudged Polish: Shake Your Tail Feathers

Today I have a gorgeous jelly polish to show you! Yes - I said gorgeous and jelly in the same sentence! My pal Leeanne sent my first Smudged Polish to me, an Australian indie company. The polish is not one I would usually grab but wow, I am so happy to have it!

Take a look at the bottle shot of Shake Your Tail Feather:

I did three coats of SYTF. It went on quite sheer, as it is a jelly, but flowed nicely on the nail. There is no fishing for the glitters even though it is quite the glitter bomb. I am impressed!

The mix of glitters is pretty cool and reminiscent of a peacock's tail. I see coppers, greens, blues, and more, in squares, hex, and circles.

Pretty, right?

Remember, shipping is from Australia so make sure to keep that in mind when ordering.

Thank you for stopping by!

Elevation Polish - Tre Cime de Lavaredo

Now I get it.

I am absolutely in love with this polish.  I get the hype for the brand, I get the re-stock chaos and madness. I get it.

This is Tre Cime de Lavaredo by Elevation Polish.

Gold holos are perfection, when done properly. And, oh man, is this proper!

The photos above are your typical flash on/light box standard photos. I used 3 thin coats and topcoat although 2 thicker coats would probably be alright. I firmly believe that third coat adds such depth (and smooths and covers imperfections) that 3 is usually my standard for most polishes.

The formula is perfect, just thick enough to spread easily without pooling the cuticles. Dry time is average but it'll pass quickly while you're busy staring at your nails!

Here are under artificial light but NO flash pics:

Of course, I have to include a couple sun shine/no flash shots. This polish is everything! This is the take pictures while driving at a stoplight (don't do that) type of polish!

I don't believe this is a LE, so if you love gold and holo, consider this on your Need list.

Polish Addict Nail Color: Coral Beach! Time for Sun & Sand

Let's savor the summer while it is still here.  With the polish I have for you today, it is really feeling like summer on my nails!

This unique polish is called Coral Beach and it is by Polish Addict Nail Color.  Check out the bottle shot.  Doesn't it feel like a summer beach, crowded with rafts and towels and buckets?

Laura has perfected the crelly glitter bomb. This was easy to apply, opaque in 3 thin coats, and there is zero fishing or effort required. I can honestly say I own nothing similar to this polish.

I am sorry to say that I no longer see this in the shop, but check out Laura's other creations, you're bound to find something to love!

Black Dahlia Lacquer: Twilight Orchid

Black Dahlia Lacquer is a fairly new indie brand but wow, have they come out with some beauties!

Exhibit A:

This is Twilight Orchid, which was a mystery polish with purchase over the 2014 Holidays (I think...may have been a little after).  I do not believe it is available now, but it is so pretty and worth sharing.

This is three thin coats of Twilight Orchid.  BD polishes can be very complex with their mixes and therefore very interesting on the nail.  This is a blue jelly base with tons of light blue, dark blue and gold glitters.  The formula is wonderful, not thick at all.  The polish dries smooth but I added a topcoat for these pics.

There is no fishing since the glitters are pretty much the same size throughout. The added holo sparkle makes this baby just glow in sunlight.  Dry time is average, if not a touch longer than average, since it is a glitter bomb.  Waiting between coats ensures no snagging or pulling.

Come a little closer to see the micro glitter and the depth of this polish!

Lovely, isn't it?  If you spot this baby in blog sales, I strongly suggest you snatch it right up!

Sinful Colors Having A Blast Collection!

So, I am playing a little bit of catchup here, but today I have 5 of the 7 SinfulColors Having A Blast collection, released around July 4.

You can find quite a few of these on a regular basis, so they are worth looking at any time! You can find SinfulColors polishes in so many places, including Walgreens, Walmart, etc. They are usually $1.99 but you can find them on weekend sales for 99c if you wait and stock up.

First up, this is Out of This World. OoTW is a sheer silver polish. This is 3 sheer coats with topcoat. Be careful with this and brush it on straight so you don't get streaks.

Snow Me White is a great basic white creme polish. This is three coats for evenness with topcoat. White cremes can be streaky and tricky to use, so for the price, this is a great go-to.

Next up is a must have from SinfulColors, the oh so popular Green Ocean, shown over Sky Tree (which I'll show you in the next blog post). GO is a gorgeous green flakkie polish. This is two coats over Sky Tree.

Star Blast Off is shown over Maroon Fine (also coming up soon). Unfortunately, SBO has a bleeding base so I prefer it over reds and darker colors that hide the bleeding base color. The star glitters come out easily though and you can get the coverage you see here in two coats.

Hot Spot is an inky blue metallic. This is another polish that can show streaks so just go slowly and be patient. This is opaque in two coats. Shown here with topcoat.

There you have it! SinfulColors releases new colors quite often but sometimes there are core colors mixed in, so if you cannot find one of these now, keep looking and it may come back.

Sinful Colors Street Fusion & Pinata Blast Glitters!

I am still playing catch-up with my SinfulColors polishes so I have a few from different collections to show you today.

SinfulColors releases polish collections quite often. If your local Walgreens is like mine, they will mix the unsold ones from new releases with the regular ones, so if you look through your display, you can find old and new ones together. SinfulColors retails for $1.99 each and they often have 99c sales on weekends.

The formula on SinfulColors polishes is consistently great so I do recommend the brand, especially picking up some basic cremes that will quickly become your go-to polishes.

First up, this is Baila Baila from the Pinata Blast glitter collection, I used one coat over Hot Spot from the Having A Blast July 4 collection. Glitter coverage was nice and since they are a universal size, no fishing or placing required. This is two coats and topcoat:

Hottie is a gorgeous blue glitter from the Street Fusion collection, which featured over 25 polishes! It is quite sheer alone so I layered it over one of my favorite SinfulColors, Blue By You. I used 2 coats of Hottie:

Otaku Anime is a sheer yellow metallic polish. This is 4 coats and topcoat. This polish is quite sheer and shows VNL (visible nail line) even after 4 coats. This is a fail for me formula wise and it does not work well with my skintone.

On the other hand, Maroon Fine is an amazing polish!

I wasn't too impressed with the bottle shot, but on the nail this polish is a stunner! The formula is creamy and it took only 2 coats plus topcoat for what you see here. The color is super flattering with my skintone and the color is such a rich, earthy shade. This is one of the best polishes I have used lately. Love it!

Sky Tree is Maroon Fine's green cousin, with the same creamy formula and subtle shimmer. This is a jungle green polish, quite vibrant and lovely. Some SinfulColors in this color range can be stainers (Savage, I mean YOU!) so I would make sure to double up on base coat just in case. This is two coats and topcoat.

Snow Me White was also re-released for Summer 2015. I believe this is a core polish. I will show you more photos w/the Having A Blast collection so I'll just post one pic here. To make a long story short, if you're searching for a go-to, creme white, grab this one! Three coats and topcoat shown here:

That is all I have for today!
