As usual, this collection - which is available TODAY! - is inspired by a book. I haven't read this one, nor heard of it until Amy sent out the info for this 8 piece collex, but if it inspires polishes this cool, it must be a good read. The book is Vurt by Jeff Noon, a 1990s classic cyber-hallucinogenic novel, and the 8 polishes together are called the Vurt-U-Want collection. There is something for everyone here, with holos, mattes, and a glitter topcoat! Ready?
This beauty is called Bottletown, it is a bottle green linear holo with rainbow flakies and glass flecks. It is such a wearable green and reminds me of spruce trees. This is three thin coats and topcoat.
Honestly, I am not going to bother you with describing the formula of each. They are all the perfection we've come to expect from Literary Lacquers!
English Voodoo is a glitter topper! Literary Lacquers is probably best well known for amazing holos, so this is a pretty awesome departure from the norm, as is Shadowgirl, which is the next polish I will show you.
This one is inspired by the knowledge feather known as English Voodoo, Magenta holo microglitter, 2 sizes of black hexes, black holo triangles and a smattering of marigold matte small hexes to represent the deadly side of this feather trip.
Here is two coats of EV over Thermofish. A glitter topper requires a few words about the formula, so it's worth noting there is no fishing or placing required for this polish.
I wanted to layer it over a nonholo to let it stand alone, too. This is one coat of EV over a China Glaze pink creme, Don't Mesa With My Heart. Literary Lacquers is based out of the southwest, so I thought this was a fitting base color.
Next up is Shadowgirl. Another departure from the LL norm, this is a soft grey matte packed with holographic and metallic glitter in silver and blue, gives different effect when worn with topcoat. I used three coats here and no topcoat so you can see how it looks applied straight from the bottle.
I am not usually a teal fan, but Thermofish is one of my favorites from this collection. It is described as a bright aqua-cyan linear holo with holo microglitter. I used three thin coats and topcoat for these pics. I will pick up this polish over and over!
Hellooooo Blue Lullaby! This bold polish is a Deep bright blue linear holo with holo microglitter. I used just two coats and topcoat for these photos. This color is regal!
I am pretty sure that Literary Lacquers is the only indie who makes wearable yellow polishes! Dandelion Wine is another beauty but this one, Curious Yellow, is a great sunshine color. It is described as a taxi yellow matte with gold glass fleck and flakies, gives different effect when worn with topcoat.
I used three thin coats and no topcoat so you can see how it looks right out of the bottle.
Take a look at this! Dreamsnake is a violet linear holo with green flakies and glass flecks. This polish is right up my alley, colorwise, but it is a unique color in my collection. In some lights, due to the green flakies and glass flecks, it looks almost frosted and like green sea glass. Really pretty!
Last but not least...a super bright holo PINK! Yaaaaay! This is Vurt-U-Want, described as a neon pink linear holo with holo microglitter. It is stunnnning! Literary Lacquers doesn't do a ton of brights, so like some of the others in this collection, it's quite unique. I used 3 thin coats and topcoat here. Zero issues with formula. I am actually re-doing my nails in this to keep it on. LOVE!
My favorites are, not surprisingly, Vurt-U-Want and, surprisingly, Thermofish!
Which are your favorites??
