I was just about to say this is a new-to-me indie...but it's not!! My nail mail pal in AU sent me a few Celestial Cosmetics polishes and got me hooked already. This is, however, the first time I am featuring it on my blog (with the small exception of my previous bornprettystore review post).
Celestial Cosmetics is an Australian brand, though, so maybe it is new to you! If that is the case, you're going to love today's post! Nicki sent me the 5 piece The Cinders collection, inspired from the Cinderella fairy tale.
Group shot! Please note that the red duochrome is the June LE and is NOT part of The Cinders. Someone needs to read her enclosed press info before she takes group shots....moving on....
Let's go in order, with the exception of June, from the photo. First up, check out Miss T! Miss T is inspired by the stepsister who wears the green dress to the ball. This polish has added holo and dark green microglitter to give it some depth.
I used three thin coats and topcoat for the photos. The formula is quite lovely, the perfect consistency without pooling or being too thick because of the glitters. I used 3 coats but you may get away with two.
Next up, this unique polish is Dame of Dust. It is inspired by the evil stepmother and has a super dark grey base with silver shimmer, purple shreds, periwinkle and red microglitter and a smattering of holo. So complex..and therefore, hard to photograph!
I used just two coats for this. It is slightly thicker due to the serious amounts of glitter. I can safely say I own nothing like this! It almost feels patriotic with the red microglitters. Nice!
I took a pic without flash, which I know looks washed out, but I wanted you to see the red glitters in all their glory!
Ashes to Cinders is a stunning, stunning, really stunning royal purple holo with pink and indigo flakkies.
Look at this polish! Yowza! This is three thin coats with topcoat. Honestly, do you need words?
Next, The Footman is inspired by Bruno, Cinderella's trusted dog. This is a dark brown jelly base with gold shimmer and greenish gold flakkies.
I did need 4 thin coats for this one as it has a jelly base. It is more sheer than the rest, but it is a jelly, so there you go! The color payoff is quite lovely. - looks like liquid gold on your nails. If you use thicker coats, three might be OK for you. I haate VNL so I used 4.
You know I saved my favorite for last, right?? Check out Mother of Fairies, inspired by the Fairy Godmother.
Gorgeous!! This is, as you can see, a lovely lilac holo. This is three thin coats and topcoat. The formula is just perfect. I expected three coats considering it is a pastel and a creme, but I wasn't expected it to be so creamy and easy to apply. Perfection in a bottle!
One more because I can!
The Cinders Collection polishes range from $10-$12 per bottle. If you decide to get the whole set, it is $57.
While you're already on the site, don't forget to take a look at the June LE polish! This duochrome is Nicki's take on alexandrite, the June birthstone. Duochromes are notoriously touch to take pics of, but I tried! This is three thin coats with topcoat. June LE is only available for a limited time and it is $12 per bottle.
These 6 polishes are varying in formula and color but they are all really nice! My favorite, by far, is Mother of Fairies with Dame of Dust as a close second. I will be following this brand closely!
