Does this post even need words? Looooook:

20140408_214317     20140408_214312

This holy grail dodo bird of the nail polish world is Maxx Factor Fantasy Fire, which I was lucky enough to acquire from a UK polish pal (thank you, Claudia) right before it became tougher to ship and send polish to the UK.  Why am I typing so many words???

I layered two coats of FF over Color Club Disco Dress, which looks like this by itself:

Adding two coats of the coveted FF gives it a beautiful sheen that turns pink in certain lights.  Soooo pretty!!

I am not sure where to tell you to find FF but if you happen to spot it on a blog sale or have a non US friend who can grab it for you, GETITRIGHTTHATMOMENT and don't hesitate!!!!!

Emily De Molly: Head Over Heels

Today's post is stunnnning, if I do say so, myself.

Pictures first, words second!

20141220_095405     20141220_095415

This is Head Over Heels by Emily De Molly, an Australian indie maker.  I was lusting after this polish for quite a while and my favorite AU nail mail pal LeeAnne sent it to me!  We send each other about 12-15 polishes at a time (to make it worth shipping, really) and this was the first one I grabbed and used immediately from my last swap package!

I used three thin coats and topcoat for the pictures you see here.  The holo is gorgeous and more pronounced in the sun, of course, but even in artificial light this baby just glows.

Barielle: Glitter Mania! 5 Glitter Toppers For Spring 2015

Today I have a Barielle polish review for you. If you're familiar with Barielle's creme polishes, prepare to be blown away with something very, very different!

You may have already seen the press release on my blog. Barielle has introduced 2 collections of glitter toppers for Spring 2015.  Each collex has 5 polishes in it.  I received the Glitter Mania collection.  To refresh your memory, this is the press release:

I believe (though I may be wrong) that these are some of the first glitter toppers for Barielle. I am more familiar with their creme finishes, which I do enjoy quite a bit.  I actually used all creme Barielle's as the bases for these glitter topper swatches, but we will get to that shortly.  Group shot:

My review is going to go in order as the press release.  For each color, you'll see a bottle shot, a brush macro, the polishes swatched alone, over white, and over black, then swatches over a Barielle creme base. It's a little photo heavy, so let's get started with my favorite of the group!

This is Confetti.

Confetti is a clear based topper with hex glitters in white, black, light blue, magenta, orange, yellow, and light pink. Very fun!  The glitter to base ratio is great - I actually had to wipe some of the glitters off the brush!!

Below, I applied two dabbed and pushed coats of Confetti over Soho At Night, a deep purple creme.

Next up, this is Princess Pink.

Princess Pink is a clear based glitter topper with a single color glitter, a rose pink. There are hex and mini hex which give it some nice depth.  The formula was great, no issues.

For the swatches below, I used two coats of PP over Pink Parasol.  This is two coats, no dipping or dabbing required.

Gemstones is up next.

Gemstones is a clear based glitter topper with purple and holo hex, tiny purple dots, and itty bitty light blue micro glitter.  The formula is perfect!

My swatch shows two coats over Taupe Notch, a creamy grey polish.

Orange Flame is polish number 4:

Orange Flame is a clear based glitter topper with a single size and shaped orange hex glitter.  This is the least complex of the 5 and probably not a color I'd reach for often (besides Halloween!).

In the swatches below, I used two coats of Orange Flame over To Blossom, a gorgeous peach creme.  The glitters in OF were easy to get out of the bottle but tended to clump together on the nail, so some pushing and placing was required.

Last but not least, this is Mermaid's Fin.

How pretty is this one! Mermaid's Fin was the most indie like to me, it has a clear base, holo micro glitter, and light blue hex.  The formula is just perfect.

In the swatches below, I paired MF with Heaven Sent, a light robin's egg blue. Heaven Sent is my favorite Barielle creme that I own, actually, it's soo pretty.  MF went on nicely, no fishing required for the bigger glitters.

And there you have it! Mermaid's Fin, Confetti, and Gemstones are my picks for this collection. They are unique, well made, and would look great over a variety of bases.

Make sure you're following Barielle on Facebook and via email - they send notifications of some really stellar deals, like 30% coupons or 5 polishes for $10, etc. The deals are a great way to try the brand if you haven't yet!

Perfectly Posh: Skincare, Soap, Body Products - Review!

Today I have a different type of post for you.  While I was perusing a few Connecticut based tag-sale like groups on Facebook, I came across a person, Stacey Deros, asking if anyone wanted to try samples from a company called Perfectly Posh.

...beauty products...samples...free...ummm...ME! Pick me, pick me!!  Stacey sent me a wonderful sample pack of products that I wanted to share with you!

Here is her info. FYI, Perfectly Posh is a direct sales biz, like a Mary Kay or Mark makeup, so if you're interested in learning more, please contact her via her Posh Page HERE!

In addition to the samples, Stacey sent me the Posh Paper, which is a bright, extra large catalog/beauty look book on the products and how the company works:

I told Stacey I had dry skin (seriously, who doesn't right now? It's under 30 degrees, in March. I know I am in New England and spring comes late and get used to it and yaddayadda, but try telling my skin that, okay?). She sent a half dozen samples that I am loving right now. Check them out in group form, then we will get closer.

First, the Gender Bender soap! I was so excited to see this. Charcoal based products are all the rage right now, so clearly Posh keeps on trend with the newest and coolest items.

Coconut oil based products are also on point right now. I love how moisturizing it is. Typical for body butters, this product is thick. I slathered it on my legs and my (nasty) crocodile skin disapeared right away. The scent is pretty much what Heaven must smell like.

Feet! Ew! Considering it hasn't been sandal season since August/September, my feet need some serious help, and Walk On The Beach will do just that. The formula is gritty (duh, sand scrub) but moisturizing. I used it right before I got out of the shower.

I also received BFF: Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Wash. Even though it says Daily, I am saving this until my once per week face exfoliating shower sesh. I am guilty of too much scrubbing on my sensitive facial skin, especially in the winter, so I'll report back once I use this.

Woo! I was excited for this, too. Overnight Face Masks are also something I've seen popping up more and more. I plan to try this on Wednesday night (when my boyfriend isn't here, LOL), but I did open the package to smell it and it smells divine.

Last, but not least, the Big Fat Yummy Hand Creme in the scent "It" Girl, has me scrambling to order a full size ASAP!

The product itself, as you can see below, is silky. It is moisturizing but not greasy. It sinks right in and makes your hands feel like butter.  It smells like my Mom's garden in the spring (whenever the heck that will be), just fresh, floral, and, like it says, deliciously girly!

One good tip I read recently was to apply your lotion to the back of your hand, like so, and then rub the backs of your hands together, letting it sink it up top first. Then, rub your hands together palm to palm and get the excess there.  Hands age very quickly, so you really should worry about them just as much as your face!

Overall, I am impressed with this line! Lucky for me, Stacey lives pretty close to me, so I am hoping to make an order and to try some other products. That It Girl lotion will be mine, I tell you!

If you want to check out the products or if you want to join her team, please contact Stacey for more info!

March 2019: Empties & Tossed Report

I am continuing to try to use up products that have been laying around, including perfumes. So far, so good. Let me show you what I used in ...
