Literary Lacquer - Statue of Liberty/New York Skyline Mani!

I am just going to say it. This may be my favorite mani of 2014. Wanna seeeeeeeee?

On a Dollar Store trip (for polish decals and accessories, of course!) I spotted the coolest decals of all time: Maybelline Nail Tattoos that look like the NYC Skyline! Gimmie!  These beautiful, well made, easy to use decals were a whopping dollar...and this post reminds me to go back and buy every package available!

Literary Lacquers polishes are gorgeous and because the formula is so consistently perfect, they play very well together.  Here are the polishes I used:

I started by painting my nails about halfway with Mr. Darcy, then sponged on Always Winter, Never Christmas in the middle and Fallen Tributes on the top.  AWNC and FT are brand new for the winter 2014 collection, BTW.  I cheated a bit and used a medium blue, Swallowed Up In Blue to blend the blues and then I dabbed on Goodnight Moon just to the very top of the nail.  Results:

I applied the water decals and coated them with HK Girl topcoat for the finished product! Cinderella hand because my index finger on my swatching hand was busted at the time:

But my swatching hand came out better, naturally, so 3 finger swatch it is!

After a day or so, I wanted something new without re-doing this mani. I added a coat of Matte-ict by A Girl Obsessed. BTW - AGO is re-launching soon! Sam makes the BEST Matte topcoat ever so I have dropped more than 1 not so subtle hint that Matte-ict needs to be among the re-launched polishes! Fingers crossed!
