Salon Perfect: Top (Coat) of The Class - Totally 80's!

Last but not least, to round out my Salon Perfect Top (Coat) of The Class posts, I have Totally 80's polishes for you.  As an 80's baby, I can definitely say I am digging these two fun toppers:

First up, this is Square Pegs over Sugar Cube, also by Salon Perfect (and an amazing white!!).  This polish needed some serious shaking because the glitters sunk a bit in the bottle.   This reminds me of a board game from the 80's but I can't think of the name....anyone know it? Full of bigger glitters in yellow squares, blue and pink dots, this is a very 80's polish!  There was a lot of base compared to the glitter ratio in the bottle, so this required the dip and dab method, also placement on the nails.

Next, this polish is SO fun! It is called Ruby's Cubes, like a rubix cube, but it also reminds me of Tetris and Gameboy, lol.  This polish is very easy to work with and the glitters cling nicely to the brush.  There is not much work required with this one!  My swatch shows two coats over Sinful Colors black.

Both of these polishes are very fun and on point with the 80's inspiration, but my favorite of the two is def. Ruby's Cubes!

You can find Salon Perfect at Walmarts nationwide and, the best part, is that the prices are under $4!

  1. Love these!!!
Maybe candy land on the top one? Kind of reminds me of a pastel version of twister too... but I think that's a 70's game.

Zoya Sophisticates

The Zoya Sophisticates collection is here! There are two "pearl" shades, two "metallic" shades, and 8 creme shades. Let me show you each one! I am going to lift the description from the site, LOL. #lazyblogger

But first, group shot:

Zoya McKenna: "refined pearl in a soft almond" is the description of this polish. It does have a "pearl" like finish to it, but it is very subtle. Watch those brush strokes though, they can show if you're not careful.

Zoya Tabitha: this is the other "pearl" polish but in a hunter green. I actually liked this shade more than I thought I would! The pearl finish makes it quite unique...but, oh boy, those brush strokes! Two coats shown here.

Zoya Gal: No doubt, this baby is named after Gal Gadot, aka Wonderwoman! I wish they had given her a more powerful color, because this one is lame-o. Zoya describes this as a "smokey, iridescent, peridot gold metallic." Ugly, LOL. My camera didn't like it and…

Lip Slut: F*ck Trump Liquid Lipstick!

Perhaps I will lose a few followers for this, but I am over it. Trump is an awful President. He does not care to unite the country, and, quite the opposite, seeks to divide people from their neighbors and loved ones.

In response to his ridiculous response to the Aug 11-12 events in Charlottesville, Virginia, Lip Slut decided to send some of the proceeds from their now infamous F*ck Trump lipstick to those who suffered.

Honestly, this product has been for sales since November 2016. I didn't buy it then because I hoped (and prayed and hoped and prayed) that, if he were elected, Trump would be great...

So, lemme show ya my new lippie, k?

I wasn't expecting the formula to be great...BUT IT IS!

The color is quite universally flattering, I would think. The formula feels like a Colour Pop matte to me, and the staying powder is great. Win, win!

PS: Fuck Trump!
