New To Me Indie: Killer Queen Varnish - 5 Polish Review!

Woo hoo! Happy Saturday! Let's start the weekend off with a new-to-me indie post!  Today I have 5 polishes that I was sent to review from the brand Killer Queen Varnish.

Group shot!

First up, one of my favorites...yes, because it's pink, but also because it has a great formula...Lip Service!  This is a hot pink polish with black hex.  On the store, it's described as a jelly but I built up the swatches below with just 2 coats sooo I would say it's more crelly, and I like a crelly better anyway, so this is a win for me.

Next, Cold As Ice is a gorgeous clear based blue glitter topper.  Filled with blue, white, and silver hex, this would look awesome as a winter time mani, too.  I used a nail wheel to swatch this over blue, a neutral, and black and the colors just popped over black, shown below.  This is two coats, no topcoat.  The formula is just thick enough to grab the glitters without fishing or placement required.

Midnight At The Oasis is not usually a polish I would gravitate towards, which makes it an automatic unique shade in my collection.  And you know what? I really like it!  This polish has a black base, so you need to use it alone or over a coat of black, like I have with the swatches below.  The black and gold contrast is gorgeous and the formula is really great.  This is two coats of Midnight, no topcoat.

La Vie En Rose has a slightly pink, super sparkly base and has both flakies and hex glitters.  I am sure you'd expect this to be my fave but it might be a little too much?  It has a slightly thicker formula than the others, but still workable and easy to grab the glitters.  I used two coats over China Glaze Dance Baby, and I bet one coat would've been better.

Last but not least, Flowers On The Wall is a gorgeous shimmery peach polish.  THIS is my favorite from the collection.  This is two coats over Purity by Illamasqua, although it really doesn't need a base.  I happened to have Purity on and the colors were so close that I just added Flowers on top.  The formula is nice, covers well, but is a little thick so put on your two coats slowly.

My favorites of the 5 are Lip Service and Flowers On The Wall, although all 5 are unique to my (way too many to admit) collection! I am impressed and plan to keep an eye on this brand - I suggest you do the same!
