Speaking of black and white glitters!
Quite a few mainstream brands are stepping up their glitter game to compete with the hot indie market! While a few companies have given us sub-par "on purpose" taco-ing glitters (ahem), others are really doing a great job!
I am happy to say, Maybelline is doing it right with the Polka Dots collection. In total, there were 4 color base polishes and one black and white glitter topper. I picked up the topper, Clearly Spotted, (duh) and the pink, Pretty In Polka(double duh) to check out this line.
I am really impressed with this line. I was not impressed with the color selection, besides the pink, but that's what a clear topper is for, right?
This is three coats of Pretty in Polka with HK Girl topcoat. The formula was not thick or thin, it was really nice. It seemed sheer after the first coat but the second made it fully opaque.
Next up is Clearly Spotted, the clear base with b&w glitter...get it? CLEAR-ly Spotted? Cute, Maybelline, very cute. This is two coats of CS over Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth:
This is CS over China Glaze Pool Party. The accent nail is Disturbing Behavior Polish Full On Cowgirl, with CS and Liquid Sky Lacquer in Safety Stick:
I think Maybelline did a great job with this! Are you a fan of the Polka Dots collex?
