Liquid Lacquer Mega Post!!! SAFETY STICK, Starlight Starbright, What Happens In Vegas, Damn It's Cold, Kablam & Only I Remain!

Lemming CONQUERED!  I had been searching for a polish by the no-longer-in-business company Alta Costura, but found a perfect dupe, thanks to my friend Tia, called Safety Stick, made by 2 Chix.

I was able to get a mini bottle from her, and my first mani looked like this:

Love this! The accent nail is CG's Unrefined, by the way. I knew I needed another bottle, so I started to look around.

Turns out, 2 Chix was also Out Of Business!!!!!

However, being the super sleuth (or raging stalker, whatever) that I am, I found a contact for 2 Chix and sent a message (desperately) hoping that the maker would have one (or 14) bottles left to sell me.

*Heaven's Gates Opens, cue Angel's singing*

Well, turns out - SHE DID!

And, in even better news, 2 Chix is now Liquid Lacquer and she is IN business!!!!!

Safety Stick is not one of her current polishes but she had the glitter mix left to make me a full size bottle! Hooray!

 Here is what I received:

From right to left:

  • Starlight, Starbright (coming soon!)
  • What Happens In Vegas...(available now)
  • Damn, It's Cold
  • Safety Stick
  • Kablam
  • Only I Remain (available now)

Of course, my first mani was with Safety Stick again! This is SS over Orly Boho Bonnet:

I loved these minis though, too, especially the orange!

What Happens In Vegas and Only I Remain are currently in her store, but def ask about the others if you're interested! Let me show you the two available ones first:

Only I Remain has blue and green glitters in a clear base. It's shown here as two coats over butterLONDON Fiver:

The other polish that is currently available is called What Happens In Vegas... and is a mix of gold, magenta, brown, black, and cyan blue glitters in a clear base:

This is two coats of WHIV... over butterLONDON Fruit Machine. Apparently I was in a butterLONDON mood.

The others are not currently in the shop, but you should contact her via Facebook and ask if you like them.

Check out my personal fave among the minis, Kablam! It has an orange base with green and teal glitters and it is super cool:

I really own nothing like that! Kablam is shown in 3 coats alone because I don't even have a base close to the color, nevermind an indie like it. I love a unique polish!

Next, Starlight Starbright is an UPCOMING polish that will be released soon! It's a blueberry colored jelly with iridescent hex and some bigger circles, which I didn't pick up in my mani. I think the mini bottle is to blame. This is 3 coats alone:

Last but not least is Damn, It's Cold, which has a variety of blue and silver mini hexes and super mini hexes throughout. Here is two coats over Barry M Turquoise, my current favorite blue polish. Am I turning into a blue polish convert or what!!?!?!

Between Barry M's Turquoise, Pluto from Cosmos Lacquer, and the blues in Damn, It's Cold and Only I Remain, I am loving blues lately!

Let me give you one last look at the GORGEOUS polish of my dreams, Safety Stick - over a blue (shocker) from Orly:

You can find Liquid Lacquer on Facebook HERE and on her store page HERE.

Tell her Lacey from My Boyfriend Hates Makeup sent you - and tell her to bring back Safety Stick! LOL. Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Mani + Pic Tutorial + Holo + Pegasus!

So, tonight I whipped up a nice little mani that I wanted to share!

This is my first attempt at a water-less water marble, also called the Water Color Mani, so please be nice :)

For this look, I used HK Girl Base and Topcoat, ButterLondon Fruit Machine, ButterLondon Miolly Coddled, Zoya Pippa, and Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing. My base was Confetti Wedding White.

Here is the "method," which I read through and took most ideas from the fabulous Chalkboard Nails.

First, paint your nails with a base and then basecoat. Add your topcoat, too, and really let dry. You dont want to drag the bottom layer up later.

Second, grab 3-4 of your fave colors, and start with a few blobs. I started with Pippa, by Zoya:

Third, while the polish is still went, grab a cheap painbrush, dip into acetone, and smear around!  It's OK if it's imperfect. Your clear coat will blend it altogether later.

Wait for a few mins...and repeat with the next few colors!  butterLONDON Fruit Machine:

Smear that around, too:

Next up was Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing, then Molly Coddled by butterLONDON.  I think I should've chosen a lighter green, the Sinful Colors is a little to prominent:

And here is the finished product:

I added Kawaii lacquer's holo top coat and a Pegasus decal. What do you think?

I am not sure anyone can get this "wrong" because it's nail art and it's fine!

Hope you love this!

PS: The decals are from SuperModCustomZ on etsy, tell him Lacey sent you! <3

xoxo, Lacey

Femme Fatale Lacquer: Lucky Ducky and Oh My Neon!

Today I have two awesome polishes from Femme Fatale Lacquer to show you! I was too excited to show you these so I decided to lump them together in one Femme Fantastical Post!

First up is Lucky Ducky, which is one of Cynthia's Easter/Spring polishes.

 Bottle shot:

On the site, it is described as:

White milky base with various sizes of teal, orange, light green, and white glitters.

Let's take a look! First, just to see it alone, here is three thin coats of Lucky Ducky by itself:

Next, I used two coats of my favorite swatching white, Confetti Wedding White, then 2 coats of Lucky Ducky. Love this polish. As usual, zero issues w/FFL's formula!

Cute, right? Next, take a look at a newer release called Oh My Neon! It is described as:

Clear base with neon pink, blue and yellow glitters.

Bottle shot time! By the way, these are the new labels for the brand, aren't they cute?

Here is 2 coats of Oh My Neon! over Confetti Wedding White:

Close up:

And even closer:

I wanted to swatch it over a color, but I couldn't decide which one, so I tried out a couple. This is just one coat of OMN over Wet & Wild Pin 'Em Slater:

The second one is over Zoya Shelby, such a perfect baby pink creme (and also the name of my dog. Yes, that's the reason I bought it, BUT since it was pink, it was really a no lose situation for me. But yes, I would've bought it for the name even if I didn't like the color. I dare you to tell me there's not a polish you have purchased solely because of the name!).

Anyway, I ended up liking it best over NYC - New York Color - Skyline Blue:

What do you think of these polishes?  I am a huuuge FFL fan and cannot wait to see what Cynthia comes up with next!!

You can find Femme Fatale Lacquer on Facebook and Big Cartel AND on this site often, too. :)

Purely You Minerals - Makeup Review! (With A Fresh Finished Full Face Look At The Bottom Of The Post!)

Ooh, it's been a while since I have had makeup products on the site!

I am really excited to show you some products from a fairly new cosmetic line, Purely You Minerals.  I was sent these items to review, but of course, all opinions are my own.

Here is the cute package I received as well as some informational pieces:

You know I adore cute packaging!

Honestly, my disclaimer should just say: I'm a Leo, I don't sugar-coat. End of story. LOL.  Purely You Minerals are made with sensitive ingredients, see above.  For those who love loose pigments and powders, this is a line you should def consider learning more about.

So, here are the items I was sent to review!

It was awesome because I got to choose what I wanted to sample, the products as well as shades, so I was able to customize my items and get a full face look that I'll show you on the bottom - yes, I like these products so much that I am putting MY FACE on my blog!

First, the eyeshadows:

I love Latte because of it's highlighting potential.  I experienced some fallout with both - more on the hand than on the eyelid, because they are loose mineral products.  If you're messy, like me, you might want to do your eyes first, then your face makeup.

Next, the gorgeous blush, Purely Pink:

It's a sweet pink!  The top swatch shows the color really pressed down onto my skin.  The lighter handed swatch, towards the bottom, is how it would look lightly applied.

Next, check out this bronzer! I didn't try the bronzer in my finished look, but it's got a gorgeous sheen!

Doesn't that just glow?  Again, the swatch on the right is pressed down and overly pigmented, while the right has a lighter touch to it - still pretty vibrant though.  This would need just a light touch, I can tell you already.  When you pick it up with your brush, give it a quick tap at the handle to shake off excess, and you'll be left with the perfect amount.

Next, Blushing, the lipgloss has a slight peppermint scent to it, and the color looked much more pigmented in the container than on my lips. It also looked more pigmented on my hand:

For the face, I was sent both the Warm Light and Warm Fair Mineral Foundations. In my look - coming riiight up - I used the Light foundation over regular moisturizer:

Obviously it doesn't go on that thick on the face, but I wanted you to see the color.

The Mineral Veil is also lovely and has a super silky feel to it:

This is hard to take a pic of because it's translucent!

And here is my face!

I used Warm Light Foundation and Translucent Light Silk Veil on my face, with Purely Pink Blush. On my eyes, I have Vanilla Latte under my eyebrow and Dark Chocolate on the lids. Blushing is on my lips. (My mascara is IT Cosmetics, if you're wondering).

I like the finished look! It is much lighter than my usual Taylor Momsen-esque black eye look!

My favorite items are the bronzer and the Vanilla Latte shadow for highlighting.

March 2019: Empties & Tossed Report

I am continuing to try to use up products that have been laying around, including perfumes. So far, so good. Let me show you what I used in ...
