Cult Nails Manipulative - My First Cult Polish!!

My polish boo, JLynn of Hello.Lacquer, and I did a swap recently, and sent my first Cult Nails: Manipulative!  Cult Nails can be found HERE.

On their site, Manipulative is listed as a Limited Edition!  Very cool!  It is described as follows:

"Don’t let her mild demeanor fool you, this diva has influence.  Dressed in soft blue, her persuasive powers become apparent when her gentle shimmer flickers to reveal her more controlling side.  Manipulative was originally offered as part of the “Divas and Drama” Collection, 2012.  Each bottle is 0.5 fluid ounces / approximately 15 ml."

Here is my first shot:

Obviously this shot, and the one above, were both taken inside with flash.

Pretty, right??

Here is it without the flash:

Very cool, I hope you find it in stock!

Thank you for stopping by! I actually received a second Cult Nails in a swap with Krystal of Beauty By Krystal and I will show you that soon, too.

Maybelline Holiday 2012: Rose Bling From The Sequins Collection

Maybelline has got a good thing going on!  I am a huge fan of Maybelline's Color Show polishes.  Their Holiday 2012 collection was called Sequins, and featured almost a dozen packed glitters that are perfect holiday toppers!

I know a lot of people had a hard time finding these!  I was lucky enough to find Rose Bling for myself and the Sapphire color for a couple friends.  If I had known how hard it was too find these, I would've scooped up more when I was in CT in October when I found them in a Rite Aid!

Anyway, yesterday I showed you Mentality Polish's Crave, a pinkish metallic.

Remember this?  I know it's been a rough couple days, LOL.

I knew Rose Bling would be a great addition!  Check it out!  You may need your shades for all this sparkle ;)

Ooooh, aaaaah!  So piiiiink and shiiiiiiny!

As usual, my pics are taken outside and in natural light!  This polish certainly doesn't need a flash to capture the bling factor.

Here is one in semi-shade:

I am loving this combo. What do you think?  Did you manage to find any of the Sequins collection?

China Glaze Escaping Reality - Yes, Again!!

Just another bit of eye candy for you today.  I've already mentioned that the Illamasqua like rubbery semi matte finish perfect formula Escaping Reality by China Glaze was BY FAR my favorite polish introduced in 2012.  It was part of the Cirque collection issued right around the end of the year.  If you've yet to find your perfect formula hot pink, I sincerely, 100% recommend this - or any CG pink, really - but the rubbery finish of this polish is pretty and unique!!

Check it outttt:

Little closer:

Sticker shot:

You can find China Glaze at Sallys or online at places like TransDesign or Head2Toe for some decent prices, altho shipping isnt always so friendly! Ugh!

China Glaze For Audrey and L'Oreal Gradient!

This came out better than I expected!

I use a base of 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey, which is a must have shade in a gorgeous light teal creme, and added a gradient of L'Oreal Silver Sparkles!

On the very tips, I added Essie's Set in Stone.  I def want to do more gradient looks.  This is feminine, sparkly, and colorful!

What do you think?

This is before I added the Essie:

butterLONDON Two Fingered Salute: Dreamy Golden Green!

Two Fingered Salute is a Nordstrom butterLONDON exclusive!  I was hesitant to get this until I saw a few blog swatches, but when Nordstrom had a 2 for 1 sale, I jumped at a chance for an exclusive color!

Bottle shot:

This is a seafoam green with a fine gold shimmer, isn't it fab?  It took two perfect coats and a swipe of Seche for this look:

To pick up the gold, I added Maybelline's Bold Gold as an accent nail.

Close up, a little blurry:

Another shot, taken outside:

What do you think?  Do you ever buy colors just because they are 'exclusive' or 'limited edition' shades?

Revlon Electric: Yes It Is!

Revlon Electric came from my polish boo JLynn and it is a bright yellow!  I don't have anything else like it in my collection, so I was happy to see this outside-the-box color in my mailbox.

Check it out!

What do you think?  Do you do yellow polishes?

Today's blog post come's from Samantha at A Girl Obsessed!

She has the Sugar Rush collection from Sinful Colors, which recently went on sale - and is actually hard to find in plenty of places.  Actually, I haven't even SEEN it anywhere....buuut I was lucky enough that Sam picked up a set for me, too! (Thanks, dude!) I can't wait to see these in person, but first, let's take a sneak peek!

You can find Samantha here:

Alsooooo, she didn't include this link but I am so going to!!   Samantha has recently opened up her etsy shop of the same name, A Girl Obsessed!  And I am also going to brag - she made a gorgeous shredded pink silver glitter bomb beauty named....Lacey!!  Love it, obviously, and I'll show you that soon, but for now, let's take a peek at the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Collection!

Hi everybody! It’s me Samantha from A Girl Obsessed.

Ok, I know, enough with the bottle shots!

Look at these colors!

What I’m showing here is two coats each with Seche Vite topcoat. I love every single one and I’m psyched I was able to share this with you all. They applied well too.

Now hurry up and get your fanny to Walgreens before the sale ends Saturday 2/23/2013!

I don’t currently have my own blog but you can reach me here:

Organization Post: Meet My Melmer!!

As you may know, I am a contributing member of Beauty Bloggers HQ, where a team of Beauty Bloggers - spearheaded by Krystal of Beauty By Krystal - get together once per month and post about a common theme.  This month's topic was organization.

Here is my post from earlier this month...and MY how things have changed over here!!

In short: look below.  My beauty cabinet was STUFFED to overflowing with supplies (mostly polish, of course) and really needed a makeover.  My posting for Krystal was the drive I needed to get a move on and really invest in some storage - piece by piece.

Here is the cabinet itself, so you know what I am working with!

Next, here are the BEFORE shots.  A few are repeats from my earlier post to Krystal.

Yes, you see correctly.  Shoe boxes!!!!

My poor (small but growing) indie collection was in it's own box:

The minis also found themselves away from the group:

And, worse, the boxes were so filled that they were breaking...

NOT CUTE!! Sooo, I went to Michaels and got my first Melmer.

HERE is the finished product!!
Inside! SOO much more room!

Top: Indies, Minis, treatments.
Middle: pinks, glitter topcoats
Bottom: all other colors of the rainbow.

Looove this!  Might have to go ahead and re-do by brand so the bottles line up nicely. I'm also considering drawer dividers of some kind, too.

I am not sure what took me so long to invest in a Melmer. It's worth it's weight in gold, or at least, in polish.  Thanks to everyone who suggested this affordable and necessary item!

Hard Candy: Beetle - Color Changing & Economical!

If you ask anyone which polish you should get from the Hard Candy line, the answer is Beetle.  Let me show you why:

What color is it!??! Red? Purple? Green? Gold? Yes!

I'm not sure what Hard Candy's most recent cruelty free status is, so if that is significant to you, check Leaping Bunny or PETA.  I am not always the best at keeping up with that.

So, this color goes on nicely, if thin.  I found it slightly runny and, given the color, a little rough to clean up at the cuticles.  The color is worth the work, though!  Love the sun shots!

Hard Candy is a mass brand that can be found at Walmart, among other places.  Prices range from $2 to 4 or so for polishes and they have other cosmetics too, including glittery pencils and mascaras that are pretty cute as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Illamasqua: Stance & I Love Nail Polish: Up To Snow Good

Keeping with the holiday and winter theme from yesterday, today I have a new-to-me indie brand to show you, a company called I Love Nail Polish!

I admit it: I wanted to try this brand after I saw the packaging!  You should know I love some awesome packaging!  This comes in a box with a heart window, similar to Rainbow Honey's, but the ILoveNP box is black and looks very sleek!

Umm, unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the box.  When I do a better mani for this color, I'll show you the box.

I just wanted to try the polish, so I layered Up To Snow Good - which is a very cute name - as an accent over Illamasqua Stance.  I love pink and teal together!  I love Illamasqua polishes, you know you've seen this before and that I loove this formula!

What do you think? Not sure why the pic below looks matte. Weird, huh?

You can find ILoveNP on etsy!

Two Of My Faves: Can You Guess What's Coming Up?

Let me show you first, then I'll tell you! :)

How awesome is this?  Can you tell what it is?

Hint: The base is a mainstream, the top is an indie.

And, if you know your indies, the bottle gave it away already!

Okay, enough torture!  This gorgeous combo is:

China Glaze: Escaping Reality
Kawaii Lacquers: Pink Blizzard.

I love it!  One last look!

You can find CG at major retailers, online, and on places like TransDesign.

You can find Kawaii Lacquers on etsy and on Facebook!!

I am continuing to try to use up products that have been laying around, including perfumes. So far, so good. Let me show you what I used in ...
